Information's Of CUET
What is CUET?
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is an independent and autonomous examination body established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. It functions as a self-sustained organization dedicated to conducting high-quality, transparent, and internationally benchmarked entrance tests. These tests evaluate the competency of candidates seeking admission to prestigious higher education institutions across India.
One of the key responsibilities of NTA is conducting the Central University Entrance Test (CUET) for postgraduate (PG) programs in 2022. Additionally, the CUET was introduced for undergraduate (UG) admissions across all central universities for the 2022-23 academic session under the Ministry of Education.
The CUET aims to provide a standardized platform for students nationwide, ensuring equal opportunities for those from rural and remote regions. This exam simplifies the admission process by enabling candidates to apply to multiple central universities through a single test.
Before being rebranded as CUET, this examination was known as the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). Introduced in 2010, CUCET facilitated admissions to undergraduate, integrated postgraduate, diploma, and certificate courses at seven central universities. However, it was not a mandatory requirement.
Now, the Union Government has made CUET compulsory for admission into central universities, including prestigious institutions like Delhi University and Visva-Bharati University. This move aims to streamline the admission process, ensuring a more structured and merit-based approach for students across the country.
CUET Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility requirements for CUET vary depending on the course and university a student wishes to apply to. However, there are some general criteria that apply to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and PhD programs.
General Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification (UG Admissions):

- Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to appear for the CUET UG entrance exam. However, candidates must meet the specific age requirements (if any) set by the university they are applying to.
